The Cronin Residence is an extensive remodel & addition to an existing family home on an ideal site. The owners were looking for a solution that would reorganize the house in a way that would better respond to the land and panoramic views. The design process boiled the functions of the home down into individualized spaces. Then a specific response for each space was crafted and then they were stitched back together into a unified, functional whole. The north end of the house opens onto a new pool area covered by a rigid canopy for shade during the intense summer sun and outdoor moving watching in the evenings. A new entry, guest bathroom, guest bedroom, garage, and southern exterior space complete the ensemble.
