The Huber residence is a remodel and addition to an existing 2750 SF house built in the 1960's. The existing house lacked focus and a strong relationship to its lovely site. The owners want to increase their livable square footage, create a strong indoor/outdoor connection, and blur the lines between existing and new. The owners envisioned a private and peaceful home with an abundance of natural light. The house has been redesigned into a series of living pavilions that surround around a central courtyard. Indoor and outdoor living spaces are connected by a continuous steel brise soliel that shades the exterior walls and glazing systems while creating opportunities for indoor/outdoor living. Materials were chosen for simplicity and durability.
